Making air fryer scrambled eggs is so easy that it barely took me 5 minutes to make them. All you need to do is get an air fryer-safe pan, and you can cook the perfect breakfast scrambled eggs inside the air fryer.

Cooking scrambled eggs in the air fryer is one of my favorite recipes as it is super easy, and I do not have to get a pan dirty.

I make my scrambled eggs in a small oven-safe bowl inside the air fryer.

I barely used more than 3-4 ingredients to cook the perfect scrambled eggs, and once you are done with it, you can also cook some toast in the air fryer in 5 minutes, and your breakfast will be ready in just 10 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp of water
  • Pepper, to taste

How to cook scrambled eggs in air fryer

1. Prepare the Tin Pan: Place a tin pan that fits into your air fryer. If you do not have a tin pan, you can place an oven-safe metal bowl or any oven-safe dish that will fit inside the air fryer. I have used a tin pan as it has a wider surface area, which helps cook the eggs faster.

2. Melt Butter: Add 1/2 tablespoon of butter to the tin pan. Place the tin pan in the air fryer and let the butter melt for about 2 minutes at 200°C

3. Prepare the Egg Mixture: Crack the desired number of eggs in a bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and pepper to taste. You can add milk or water to this mixture to get a creamy scrambled egg (I added 1 tbsp of water). Whisk the eggs, salt, and pepper until well combined.

4. Add Egg Mixture to the Tin Pan: Pour the egg mixture into the tin pan with melted butter.

5. Cooking Phase 1: Place the tin pan back into the air fryer. Cook at 200°C for 2 minutes.

6. Stir and Continue Cooking: After the initial 2 minutes, carefully take out the tin pan and stir the eggs. You can stop at this point if you like the consistency of your scrambled eggs; I wanted to cook it a bit more, so I placed it back in the air fryer and continued cooking for an additional 1 minute.

7. Check Doneness: Check the scrambled eggs for doneness. They should be soft and slightly creamy but not runny. If you want to cook it longer, you can put it for an additional 1 minute and keep checking it at every 2-minute intervals.

8. Serve Immediately: Remove the tin pan from the air fryer once the eggs are cooked to your liking. Serve the scrambled eggs immediately while they are hot. Garnish with fresh herbs, cheese, or any additional toppings. I like to garnish it with spring onions.

tips to make scrambled eggs in the air fryer

1. Choose an air fryer-safe or oven-safe dish to cook the eggs in. Make sure it fits comfortably inside the air fryer basket.

2. Even if your dish is non-stick, it’s a good idea to lightly grease it with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking. Also, butter adds flavor and creaminess to the scrambled eggs, so I suggest using butter.

3. Mix the eggs in the air fryer with desired ingredients like salt, pepper, herbs, or cheese for added flavor. Don’t put the eggs in the cooking pan, and then mix it as that would mix the butter layer in the egg, and you won’t have that nonstick barrier between the egg mix and the pan.

4. You can try cooking scrambled eggs directly on parchment paper by lining the entire air fryer basket with parchment and then adding melted butter and eggs.

However, it is really easy to make a mess when you cook without a pan directly on the parchment paper; hence, I would avoid you doing so.

Also, remember never to run the air fryer with just parchment paper and butter on it. Add the eggs and then turn on the air fryer.

5. Remember to take out the egg mixture once in a while and stir it after every 2 minutes. If you don’t, you will end up with an omelet.

6. You do not need a parchment liner for this recipe, as you make it in a tin pan. You can use an air fryer silicone basket liner and make scrambled eggs in them if you do not have a tin pan or oven-safe utensil.
