Ingredients and Substitutions
2tbsp of Butter- If you want to make this as a vegan version, then you can switch this to vegan butter.
1/4 tsp of salt– Depending on how salted the cheese and butter are in the mix, you can add more salt if you want to.
1/4 tsp Dried Parsley- If you do not have parsley on hand, you can use oregano in the mix, which would also give a great flavor to the garlic bread.
1 tbsp of minced fresh garlic- I know this can be a lot of garlic to many, but considering the amount of cheese and butter you add, you would appreciate a lot of garlic.
4 tbsp of grated parmesan cheese(or any soft cheese of your liking)- If you want a vegan version, you can use some vegan cheese that melts well when microwaved.
Finely chopped coriander(or parsley) leaves for garnish
4 Slices of bread- You can use bread of any kind. I have used my homemade air fryer bread. Ensure the bread is slightly thick; thicker breads make better garlic bread.
This air fryer garlic bread recipe can be made with Texas toast, ciabatta, or regular milk bread. Anything you like can work with this recipe. Make sure to get the cheese mix right.
How to make Air Fryer Garlic Bread?
1. Mix butter, salt, cheese, and parsley until you get a paste-like consistency. You can add chopped green chilies if you like the spicy garlic spread.
2. Slather the above mix on the bread and make a thick coating on each bread.
The thicker the slice of bread, the thicker the layer of this mix needs to be applied to get an excellent bread-to-cheese ratio in every bite.
You can also toast the bread in air fryer then smear this cheese mix on top of the bread to get the perfect toast.
3. Now cook the garlic bread at 200°C for 4-6 minutes. I prefer cooking my garlic bread for just 4 minutes in the air fryer when the cheese gets slightly brown and the other side of the bread gets a bit crispy.
4. Garnish the garlic bread with freshly chopped coriander or parsley.
5. Enjoy your garlic Bread!
Tips on making the perfect Air fryer garlic bread-
1. You can line your air fryer with parchment paper if you are scared of the melted cheese dripping on your air fryer basket. I like not using it here so that the bread is evenly cooked(I choose to do it this way). The perforated parchment papers work the best in this case.
2. You do not need to toast the bread before making garlic bread as the air fryer slightly toasts the bread while melting the cheese.
Storing leftover garlic Bread
You can always store the leftover Air fryer garlic bread in the refrigerator for 3-4 days and then freeze it in the freezer if you want it to last longer.
Make sure to wrap them individually in wax paper of aluminum foil so they don’t stick to each other when you freeze them, making reheating easier.
How to reheat frozen garlic bread in air fryer?
Take the frozen garlic bread slices out of the freezer. Place them in the air fryer basket and air fry at 200°C (390°F) for 5-6 minutes. Check for desired crispiness.
Once reheated, remove from the air fryer and enjoy!
I hope you enjoy this garlic bread recipe!
