250 grams of mushrooms, halved- I have used button mushrooms for this recipe as they come out very juicy and delicious. You can use any mushroom you like, but ensure it is fresh. The thicker the mushrooms, the better the cooking time.

1 large onion, peeled and thickly chopped- Make sure the onions are chopped well and you do not make it too thin. Thinly chopped onions can burn easily inside the air fryer, ruining the entire dish’s taste or flavor.

2 tablespoons olive oil- Oil is crucial in this recipe as it helps to cook all the ingredients evenly without burning them. You can use any neutral oil, like vegetable oil or avocado oil, that cooks well in the air fryer and includes olive oil.

1/2 teaspoon black pepper- You can add this seasoning or any of the below seasoning as much as you like and in any given quantity that you like. It is all about your personal preference.

1. Prep Mushrooms and Onions: First, wash the mushrooms under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Dry the mushrooms using a clean kitchen towel and cut them in halves or quarters, depending on the size. Peel the onion, cut it in half, and then chop it into thick pieces.

2. Season and Mix: Combine the halved mushrooms and chopped onions in a mixing bowl. Add the olive oil, black pepper, garlic powder, and salt to the chopped mushrooms and onion and mix them well.

3. Transfer to Baking Pan: Place the seasoned mushrooms and onions mixture into a metal baking pan that fits in your air fryer basket. Make sure you use an oven-safe pan. All oven-safe pans can be used in an air fryer. You can also make this on a silicone basket liner.

4. Air Fry: Carefully place the baking pan with the mushroom and onion mixture into the air fryer basket and cook at 190°C for about 10 minutes. You can stir just once towards the end of the cooking time, let’s say at the 6-7 minute mark, so all the mushrooms and onions cook evenly.
